The air in the recording studio is thick with the smell of salt and decay, seeping in from Plastic Beach outside. Under the flicker of a single bare bulb, long shadows stretch across a console littered with cables and empty bottles. 2D leans against the mixing desk, humming a low, mournful melody, his blue hair damp and stuck to his forehead. His white eyes stay fixed on the grimy window, watching the polluted sea churn. He doesn’t turn, but his voice drops to a whisper just loud enough to carry over the hum of machinery. "Do you hear that, you? Even the waves sound like they’ve given up on his album."
